My first trip in Europe starts in Munich, German, where we had 3 days exhibition in OPTI.
On the night of 26 January, I get in the train to Verona ( I need to transfer from Verona Porta Nuova to Munich), start my 4 days journey in munich.
In the Milan central station, I was amazed by this old building which rebuild from a church.
See from the poster, this year is going to be the 150 anniversary of Italy.
You can see the edge of the floor, the builder insist to keep the wing. I don't know why, but I like this detail very much.
At 22:50 I arrived on Verona Porta Nuova. In this small and cold glass waiting room,,,
At about 1 o'clock, the train come, finally I could have a sleep...
In the early morning, the train is running on the snow covered ground filed, the broadcasting starts to speak in Germany. My impression of calm, logical and efficient about Germany starts to become clear when I see the buildings, streets and people working inside.
At 6:30, arrived on Munich central station. With the help of a girl who can speak very well english, I found the hotel they reserved. checked in, took a shower, then I started my half day's wondering in munich.
In the city center, Marienplatz, everything seems new to me: the shoes in the window, the group of people who playing instruments in the square, the flower vender, the shop for art work... I look like a kid who is curious about everything in the world.
I felt so happy, even got lost in this city...
Read from Wikipedia, the city's motto is "München mag Dich" which means Munich Loves You. München, this name is derived from the Old Hight German Munichen, meaning of "by the monks' place", the monk of the Benedictine order who founded the city; hence the monk depicted on the city's coat of arms.
In italian, munich called "Monaco di Baviera", which has the same name of Monaco in France. Don't ask me why, I don't know, even the italian I asked he doesn't know..
There are several churches close to Marienplatz, I just walked around this area, entered a church by accident.
A pig is smiling to me in this chilling morning. :)
Behind the tree, it is not a real church as you can see, the front side is covered with a big picture. The church seems is in rebuilding, but they still consider about to leave a nice impression to visitor.
In the afternoon, we started our work in the exhibition center.
At night, after whole day's work, we went to a small nice restaurant. I like a kind of break very much. It's in heart shape, salty and crispy. Germany eat it when they are drinking beer.
